
2/29:24 Who is ready for SoDak 16 Basketball action? The Girls Varsity Basketball team will be making a short drive to Irene to take on the Tripp-Delmont/Armour Knighthawks. Doors will open at 6:15 pm game will start at 7 pm sharp. Winner will advance to the State Tournament. Theme for tonight's game is retro Tornado gear. Go dig in the closet for some retro outfits. Pep rally will start at 2:45 pm doors open at 2:30 pm.
If you can't make the game it will be livestreamed on Irene-Wakonda YouTube channel. Our very own Charlie and Spencer will do the play by play commentary.



Elementary students spent some good time visiting with the varsity basketball teams. They also received autographed team photos. Helping keep the Tornado spirit going as we continue on into our post season. Thank you to Mrs. Tornberg and Mrs. Heesch for helping organize the event.




Congratulations to Centerville's Boys' Basketball Coach Bill Marquardt. With the region win last night Bill has eclipsed the 500 win mark. He is just the 11th high school boys' basketball coach in South Dakota's state history to do so. If you see Bill congratulate him for an amazing milestone!

2/27/24: Post season action starts tonight for the Varsity Boy's Basketball team. They will be heading to Freeman to take on Freeman Academy/Marion. Game will start approximately at 7:30 pm. Live stream will be on NFHS network with a paid subscription or the Freeman Flyers YouTube channel.



The special school board meeting scheduled for tonight has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.

2/23:24: Who is ready for an evening of dinner and music? Things are starting to come together for a run filled evening. Come out and support our Music department for the yearly Pops Concert. Soup will be served and doors open around 6:15 pm. Performances will start promptly at 7 pm. Please arrive early so you can be seated and ready to be entertained at 7 pm sharp!

Lillie E. was nominated by the staff of Centerville High School to receive the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award. She was nominated for her dependability, service, leadership, & patriotism. Lillie opted to write an essay for the scholarship portion of the award and received 1st place in our Chapter, earning her a $500 scholarship. Her essay will move on to the state level for a chance to win more scholarship money. Lillie attended a President's Tea on February 10th where she received her scholarship money and award. She also read her essay for those in attendance. Congratulations, Lillie on this high honor!



2/20/24: Post season play starts today for the Tornadoes. The girls basketball team will host region 4B action this evening. Schedule is as follows:
6 pm Centerville vs Freeman Academy/Marion
7:30 pm Viborg-Hurley vs Irene-Wakonda

Centerville's annual Child Development Fair will be held on Thursday, March 28th in the Library. Development and School Readiness screenings will be provided for children ages 3-5 who are not currently enrolled in the Centerville School District. Families are encouraged to reserve their spot by calling the school at (605)-563-2291.
